Seasonal Dinners
Interwoven between our world cuisine gone local dinners, we have a series of seasonal dinners depending upon what is fresh and traditional for that time of year. As with most meals at Sub Rosa, everyone in the restaurant eats pretty much the same meal on a given night. Here are a few of our seasonal dinners, we hope you can join us someday.
Winter
December - Wild Game. Robust meal built around deer, elk & bunnies
January - Dungeness Crab. A whole meal built around fresh seafood
February - Sparkling wine and oysters for Valentine's Day
Spring
March - Comfort food. Root vegetables. Traditional yet off kilter
April - Foragers dinner - morels, wild fennel, and fiddle head ferns
May - Columbia River salmon feast
Summer
June - Smoked meats. Grilled vegetables
July - International Pinot Noir Celebration dinner
August - Brewers dinner - pairing local food and local beer together
Autumn
September - Grape harvest "crush crew" dinners of Yamhill County
October - Mushrooms galore
November - East Indian Thanksgiving
We love the Herbfarm's style of rotating seasonal dinners, but frankly five hours is more time than we want to spend serving a meal. And while the table is yours for the evening we try to wrap our part up in under 3 hours. You are welcome to stay longer. Six hours stays happen from time to time and the record is eight hours at Sub Rosa, but that is another story altogether.
