Romantic His and Her Valentine's Dinner
Our menus are given a lot of thought at Sub Rosa. We cook the food we love. The problem is, we love everything.
For Valentine's dinner Michael always wants to keep it light and festive just in case things get frisky afterwards. Linda is always hankerin' for a slab of rare beef. So for Valentine's Dinner, we offer two options - a delicious char broiled rib eye and a sumptuous meal built around Creole crab cakes.
Below you will find the two menus. Dueling Valentine's dinners as it were. You can't go wrong with either one.
Linda's "beef girl" dinner:
Appetizer: Bruschetta topped with tomato, basil and Parmesan cheese
Salad: Pancetta, goat cheese and dried cranberry salad
Entreé: Prime beef rib eye steak - drizzled with sauce Béarnaise
Greens: Spinach soufflé - light and fluffy with a hint of nutmeg
Dessert: Chocolate mousse in a phyllo cup marked with raspberry coulis
Wine: Soter Sparkling Rosé 2005. Sineann Cab Franc 2007
Michael's "afishionado" dinner:
Appetizer: Raw Olympia and Kumamoto oysters with lemon juice
Salad: Bibb lettuce with Gorgonzola and roasted Oregon hazelnuts
Entreé: Louisiana crab cakes w/ Creole sauce on a bed of arugula
Greens: Grilled asparagus - Par boiled, lightly grilled and seasoned
Dessert: Lavender créme bruleé
Wine: Argyle Extended Tirage Brut 1998. DePonte Pinot Noir 2005
